Laser Tattoo Removal
Most tattoos, whether done by a professional or an amateur tattoo artist, are permanent. Laser treatment works better on dark pigmented tattoos (black, blue, and green) than on light pigmented tattoos (red and yellow).
Treatment Process
Using light energy, the laser breaks up the pigment in the tattoo to microscopic pieces. It is your white blood cells that remove the ink thru your body over a period of 4 weeks. Soon after treatment, the body will gradually absorb the broken pigmentation and regenerate new skin free of the tattoo pigment. There are many factors on how fast and how many treatments you may need. To avoid discomfort, numbing cream is an option that can be applied. The cream takes 90min to take effect but significantly reduces the pain. The actual laser treatment is quite quick. Most tattoos only take a few minutes. Larger tattoos can take up to 1 hour.
Scheduled Treatment
Treatments must be repeated. The number of sessions required is determined by a variety of factors. The quality of the tattoo work, where on the body it is situated, the age of the tattoo, and the colours used in the design. Because the laser works on the skin's surface, it may take 1-2 weeks to fully heal, as the skin will need to heal between sessions. The time between sessions is a minimum of 4 weeks or longer. Tattoo removal is a process and takes time but great results can happen if you are patient.
Aftercare
After your procedure, your treated area may or may not present with pinpoint bleeding, blisters, bruising, redness, slight swelling. This should subside within a few days. We will photograph all data for our records.
After you are treated, you will leave in a sterile state with the area fully covered with a dressing placed over the treatment site. You will also receive a PDF post-care fact sheet.
Leave dressings in place for up to 2 hours.
You must keep all treated areas in a sterile state.
It is your full obligation to follow the post care instructions.
What You Need To Do
1. KEEP THE AREA STERILE AT ALL TIMES.
Don’t soak the area for an excessive amount of time in water, the area will go mushy and get infected.
(Showering is ok, see hints below)
COMPROMISED. Don’t wear tight clothing that will cause chaffing and irritation.
Avoid contact and impact on treated area.
2. AVOID SWIMMING AND SUN EXPOSURE.
Best to not go swimming or full sun exposure for the first 2 days or until your scab has formed, especially for larger tattoos. Smaller tattoos will heal much faster. Apply SPF 50+
plus and completely cover the area if you are spending prolonged periods in the sun, again not advisable. It is preferred you never soak a treated tattoo.
3. AVOID OVERHEATING AND SWEATING
Keep area cool. Do not injure or overheat the area. Best to not directly tan on the area if possible. Best to avoid Saunas for a couple of days.
4. AVOID COVERING FOR PROLONGED PERIODS OF TIME
Unless it’s required never use plastic waterproof coverings. Allow the area to dry out and avoid it from getting soggy, let it breathe. The longer it is soggy and moist the longer it will take to heal.
5. AVOID THE USAGE OF DIRTY BANDAGES AND COVERINGS.
Remember to keep the area sterile at all time.
6. AVOID HOME-MADE REMEDIES.
Never allow hazardous or dangerous fluids or substances on the area.
Hints For Post Care
• After shower, gym etc you have the option also to drizzle with a saline solution or botled water. Tap water in Indonesia is dirty. Pat the area on the skin and allow it to dry out.
• Powder with Nebacetin Powder or Medipulv Antiseptic powder and place a STERILE gauze swab loosely on area until there is a healthy scab. Usually it will take around 1 week. Again healing time depends on the size of your tattoo and what you do in your time between treatments.
• Once you have a healthy scab don’t allow it to get injured and moisturize it regularly throughout the day (Vitaman A, D ointment is a suggested). You may not use non-industry standard topical skin products.
• Your tattoo might start to get itchy , this fine but dont scratch it and Don’t pick the blisters or tattoo EVER or you WILL scar.
Infection and Scarring
Scarring and infection may occur but it is pretty rare. The skin is already scarred from the needle penetrations of where the tattoo was applied which lies just under the epidermis.
Infection may occur if you Do Not follow the postcare instructions, however by following our postcare procedures you will heal fast and be ready for your future treatments.
We cannot guarantee full removal of the ink, nor can we predict the pace at which your immune cells will create a fading of the tattooed area. Everyone fades at their own pace.
Be Aware of Abnormal Healing
Swollen, excessive redness, oozing, puss and any other indication of abnormal healing MUST BE IMMEDIATELY INSPECTED BY A DOCTOR. Only a Medical Practitioner will be able to diagnose and explain the situation and prescribe appropriate treatment. Most likely antibiotics. If you are not sure fell free to ask me.
Be Safe
If you have blisters and your skin presents areas that are weeping, you should change
gauze daily until a well-formed scab has formed. Always use a very loose piece of gauze so that the skin can breathe.
This may sound like a lot to digest but in reality just keeping it as dry and sterile as possible you will heal well for your next treatment.

Yes you can. Usually older tattoos remove quicker than new ones but again with good ink done by a good artist a new tattoo can still be removed. Depending on the size of the tattoo you should wait a minimum 4-6 weeks after getting the new tattoo before you start to remove it, because your skin needs time to heal.

Removing tattoos is like peeling an onion. We are just taking a layer off each time. The darkest parts of your tattoo will be the last parts to be removed as they are the deepest under your dermis. Grey scale or light shading removes a lot quicker than linework. It takes 28 days for your body to remove the ink particles after each laser treatment.
-
Most side effects from removals will be healed within the first 7-10 days. The first 2-4 days will be the worst depending where the tattoo is and the size of it. You may present with bruising, pinpoint bleeding, blisters, the area may swell up. Again these are all part of the process and really are quite minimal on most tattoos.
